MCIT adopts the Easy Learning Initiative in Egypt

March 24th 2005 (Cairo, Egypt- MCIT, ICWFD, Etisalat Academy, RITSEC) In accordance with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology “MCIT” continuing efforts to build the Egyptian Information Society, H.E. Dr. Tarek Kamel the Minister of Communication and Information Technology witnessed the signature of the MOU between MCIT, the ICWFD, Etisalat Academy, and RITSEC to support the inauguration of EasyLearning Initiative in Egypt.

The MOU is aimed at enabling the use of IT as a tool for socio-economic development through the use of specialized human resource development programs.


This project is supporting the efforts aiming at using IT in human developing programs for the young generation in the government sector, small and medium enterprises in addition to maximize the employability chances of Egyptian labor in the neighborhood Middle East labor markets.

The eLearning Competence Center that is affiliated to MCIT, will coordinate the pilot implementation for applying this initiative in Egypt. The center has hosted a workshop for discussing the availability of applying the initiative in Egypt. Representatives from the governmental organizations, the private sector and civil society in addition to the representatives of the ICWFD, Etisalat Academy and RITSEC have participated in this workshop.
